During the middle ages, the Silk Road beginning from China all the way to Aegean cost of Anatolia played an important role in the trade business of the world. Rich silken fabrics, oriental carpets along with colorful ceramics and exotic herbs mounted on hundreds of camels that found their way from the Far and Middle East and they all stopped at Anatolian ports to be loaded to ships that will take them to Europe.

One of the Caravanserais where the caravans stopped overnight during their journey was AKHAN that is located on the foot of ancient city of Laodicea. Our Laodicea store next to the ruins of Akhan has got a large capacity of making carpets and in full season 150 carpet makers are employed with all the benefits provided for them.
